The InCharge mobile app prototype is designed to enhance the experience of electric vehicle (EV) owners by simplifying how they manage charging. The onboarding flow begins with car selection, allowing users to input their vehicle’s make and model to ensure accurate compatibility. Once connected, the app displays real-time information such as battery percentage, estimated range, and charge status. This establishes the foundation for a personalized EV companion app that is tailored to the specific needs of each user’s vehicle.

A key feature of the prototype is its charging station discovery and filtering system. Users can browse and save favorite charging locations, while filtering based on distance, price, amenities, wait times, and ratings. The app provides detailed information for each station, including real-time user reviews, available amenities (like restrooms, WiFi, and dining), and charging costs. By combining functional data with social insights, the app empowers EV owners to make informed decisions about where and when to charge, optimizing both convenience and efficiency.

Another important component is the community and review integration. Users can see ratings and feedback from others, follow specific EV owners, and contribute their own reviews of charging stations. This community-driven approach transforms charging from a logistical necessity into a connected experience, where drivers can share insights and avoid common frustrations like long waits or hidden fees. Overall, the prototype demonstrates a thoughtful blend of utility, personalization, and social interaction—highlighting not only the technical features but also the human-centered design principles that make the app stand out.
